Day 9/30 = 3/10 / Games I've Beaten

Cowabunga!  Spent the evening at my brother, JCs house with his family and friends.  Our buddy M is having a birthday on Thursday.  Not sure if we'd get out with them yet, so we had poker night on Saturday and ate some steak with him and his family tonight.  JC built this awesome MAME system, 4 player stand-up.  Had fun horsing around with the kidlets in the backyard.  We managed to do a little haronuking each other on StreetFighter II, explored the dungeons some in Gauntlet II and even beat the radical TMNT, the first one, 4 player with K  The sound of arcade games is music to the ears.  Looking forward to crossing more off the list with them in the future.  Is there an end to Marble Madness?  Dynomite!
Almost didn't run today, almost cut it short but hell no!  I got my ass out there and ran it as usual.  Gotta be on guard for those excuses.  They like to slip in the back door and next thing you know your belly's pudging out.
This afternoon I worked on the a video that I was hoping to post today but it's going to need more work.
Stay tuned and see you in the futurrrre!

Day 8/30 = 4/15

After a late night for both of us, as J wished, we took the kids for a hike at a trail I heard of just up Taylor-Kidd, past Collins Bay Rd over the bridge and through a hole in the trees.  There's a lazy creek running through the woods where the minnows swim and the crayfish lurk. I spotted a palm-sized orange butterfly with two brown stripes like a W on it's back fluttering heavily upon leaves. The kids kidnapped a tadpole which now sits on K's desk, awaiting transformation.  We spent the rest of the day and night white washing over our red bedroom, to achieve J's Cape Cod look.  She's painting the railing and the stairs grey.  We consumed much grease and salt in the form of hashbrowns, cheeseburgers, poutine and soda pop.  While painting, I listened to Springsteen, Weezer and the entire Joshua Tree album again. Man, that album still rocks.

Day 7/30

Big Red's Style Tips.  When you're considering decorating your windows, and you're looking for that classic style but you're too poor to afford real curtains, then look no further then flags on windows.  Nothing says class like a rebel flag bought from a parking lot hung over your window.
If you can't find a flag, a towel will do nicely in a pinch.

Day 6/30 = 1/5 : Bar Flys Vs Age

I just realized this:

Day 5/30 = 1/6

I don't know what to say today.  I can't think of anything useful, meaningful or entertaining to say.  But I have to write something to keep the gears working.I wrote a few things and erased them, they just seemed pointless.  This morning, I got up earlier and worked out, had a phone meeting, did the dishes, added a layer of mud to the drywall repair and edited the wedding video.  I watched the kids, surfed the net and hung out with J.  Tonight, I work, cabbing.  Time for supper.  Maybe by tomorrow I will feel more inspired.

I want to take this course in the Fall.
That and the air-brakes course.
In fact I would like to get as many licenses as I can before I die.

Day 4/30 = 2/15

In spite of my lack of expertise:

Day 3/30 = 1/10

Before:

Today I vacuumed the house from top to bottom cause I got these bites around my underwear hems that has been driving me insane.  So insane, that I spent the day vacuuming every crack and crevice in the house.  I went to the laundromat and filled 7 washers with clothes including the heavy duty.  This is what happens when I try to do something I should do like work on making these before pictures into the after ones.  I feel the urge to put everything in order first.  I did get the corner bead I need for the drywall corners while the clothes were washing.  That stuff is like a razor blade for giants.  If I get another bite, I'm gonna burn the fucking house down.

Bruce Springsteen - "Wild Billy's Circus Story" Live

Day 2/30

(
I want to add a few more items to the to-do list:

  • fix up and paint the bedroom
  • build a sensory deprivation tank
  • build myStats prototype
)
Went for a run this morning.  I've gotten my run up from 25 to 45 minutes.  I estimate it's around 9 km.
Like writing does for my brain, I like what running does for my body and brain.  I read somewhere that it takes 25 minutes of exercise before your body starts burning fat tissue, and that time can be decreased by drinking a coffee beforehand.  So that's what I do.
I'm on week 6 of exercising again.  Like many people I do good for a while, then something gets in the way and before I know it I'm not exercising anymore.
My routine is M-W-F work-out, T-Th-S run using a Men's Health program that seems to work.  After 4 weeks, the workout's is supposed to be 4 days a week but then I miss the running.  It's the running that works the best for me.  It's meditative, it forces me to breathe and gets me out of the house and into the sunlight and trees.
But I want to also do less.  That's what I want to build the tank for. I think that doing the opposite of exercise and work is also beneficial to one's existence.
Well, that's all I'm gonna say for today.  Gotta get out and start working on The List.

30 Days of Light.

Inspired by Suzanne Henderson's quest to blog for 100 days at Simple Teaching, today I commence my attempt for 30 days.  Of course, nothing ever goes as planned but here's what I hope to accomplish this year:
  • 30 days of blogging
  • keep exercising
  • +80%  in my courses this fall
  • finish editing the wedding video
  • get PHP, MySQL and Apache running on my computer
  • finish the wall behind Jessi's computer
  • fix the chimney
  • get the RV home, running and ready for winter
  • clear out the old fence and rubble and build a new fence
  • keep my shop clean
  • write an app
I'm gonna cut it off there.  Cross off day 1 of blogging.
